belated halloween

i finally wore my customized aa dress. it was supposed to be kind of wednesday adams-ie but it didn't turn out to well. i just hand sewed some vintage lace trim on the neckline and cuffs and that was pretty much it. some purple eyeshadow, fake lashes, lipliner, ripped tights and good to go. i had chokemarks on my neck as well but they're on the side so you can't tell here. all in all a pretty boring costume but i was happy :D

oh yeah that random piano playing dude, is from niagra falls haunted house, honestly i'm a total whimp but i laughed more then anything in there! it's worth a visit though.

"You never get caught in the rain, when I’m drenched to the bone every time..."

yeah pretty much. i'm kind of scared our house will get flooded and i'll drown, the way it has been pouring down. well at least i've got an excuse to wear layer, over layer, over layer...
well i've got a sewingclass tomorrow and i had a really, really long weekend so now i'm of to bed.
good night!

...like pierrot the clown.

hello again. today was one of the last sunny days back here and i really enjoyed every single bit of it. although i've been wishing for fall to finally arrive i can't help but complain about all the rain we've been having lately. it's fun as long as your inside or know it doesn't matter if you get wet, but if it's pouring, you have to ride your bike to school and you've got exames first period, it's really nothing you look forward to. school is quite demanding right now and i have some many things i've been trying to keep up with, ... it drives me bonkers!! we've been doing a few interesting art projects which i'll share later on but for now, all i've got is this. capturing the last specs of sun and my wannabe-parisian dress ( a bit o.d., no?).

p.s. i might ask for biker boots for christmas. and a sewingmachine for my birthday. but that's it, really.

diy or die

after seeing bazzillions of drop-dead canvas/cotton totes, i actually managed to make my own. i saw the ballet-slipper design on some blog a while ago, but i couldn't find it for the life of me! so i just scetched some slippers, or what i thought they'ed look like. if any of you is a prima ballerina or just has common sense, you might have noticed that each slipper only has one ribbon!! well i would like to say that i did that on purpose, but unfortunetly i didn't. i thought it looked cute anyway and after carrying it around for a few days, i must say i'm shocked at how badly people pay attention to details. only one of my friends (who by the has danced for over 10 years) noticed and even after a couple of hnts people were left clueless. well good for me i guess. i'm really happy with how it turned out and i made a nother one for my friend, using this the cure cover. she loved it!! busy week ahead of me, so i better get off to bed.
good night, everyone!!

back for more

hi guys! i'm back. after this very long break i've finally managed to start blogging again.
i was lacking the time and enthusiasm, but now i'm back on board. i suppose summer just made me lazy. so much to do, so little time... i spend a wonderful holiday in the states were i bonded with my loveable new family. my talented bear of a step-brother, my amazing "little" step-sister and my incredibly awesome step-mother. we all share a passion for written words and they are such an amazingly creative bunch. i got so inspired in those few weeks! and when i found out that my lovely new mom also was crazy for vintage frills and antique thrills, i was lost. no way out at this point. i finally found people, that i actually know in person that have the same interests as i do. it's a wonderful feeling. i think there really is a place in this world i belong to. with these people.

a lot of bloggers have been writing about, how they were looking forward to fall and all of those wonderful fallish colors and clothes. same with me. not only because i love my thick wool sweaters, cable knits and thights, but also because i'm just not the person to be sitting around in the blazing sun getting all toasty. my fare skin might freckle a bit but usually it just burns. i can live without that, thank you very much. give me a stormy autumn evening, some hot cocoa, a comfy sweater and a good book and i'm beyond happy. throw in some awesome fall clothes for good measure and i could live happily ever after. yeah, i'm that easy to please. anyway i didn't get all excited for summer dresses until mid-june when it finally started to get abit warmer here in germany. even then i couldn't stop wearing those damned black thights. i tried. really.
after five weeks of wearing pastels, florals and floaty fabrics i had my share of summer-romance-dressing and headed back to my more muted colors. not that i wore any hot pink or lime green, but i definetly dressed more colorful then usual. this ensemble is my welcome-back-fall attire. don't leave me waiting to long! that's it for now. i'll try not to wait this long again for my next post;)

sheer lace blouse- tj maxx
floaty black chiffon skirt- my mom's closet (seriously the best find i've made in a while, so versatile!)

little black boxy purse- thrifted
brown leather skinny belt- my granny's
black thights- the local drugstore

p.s.: a shout out to my lovely stepmother kaety two birds from tribal hippie!!! check out her awesome blog!!
